This film is absolutely funny. "Black" Comedies are the best ones. I strognly recommend to watch this DVD. Although, it's finished very unusualy, it doesn't matter, it'll keep you laghing till the end.

I usuallly love crude humor, or can at least tolerate it. I love so-callled "Black" comedies. I'm not easily offended, either. `Soul plane' is just down right stupid!, You'll probably never see another movie quite like this! Some would say that's a good thing, but as I watched this I caught a few laughs. I've seen some pimped out rides, but a pimped out plane? I think people are taking this movie a bit too seriously, or they don't know how, when or why to laugh at this specific type of cultural humor, this is very obviously a FUBU movie. This is another movie that just pokes fun at everything & everybody.
Racial stereotypes & black/white culture are embraced rather than dispelled. Some of the jokes are forced & other's had there awkward moments. Tom Arnold can be fun to watch, although he has not made anything like that since 'True Lies' but in this movie he was just average. Snoop Dogg can be a lot of fun, even in bad films, but here he is one of the worst things on board even though he had some funny lines. Monique was her usual self in her role. Dwayne Adway is a bit weak in the leading role he needed to stick to being the straight man. Stewardess Sofia Vergara has landed in this film from being pictured on a footballler's arm. And like Francine Dee (who plays the Chinese stripper here) is another one of the models & women that have appeared as portraits by the GB artist & psychic Stephen Armourae. This film tries to be an Airplane spoof. But that in itself was a spoof. Double negatives don't work well.
I'm sort of scared to even recommend this movie for purchase, I rather say rent it out first, just to be on the safe side. For alll of you that like the black comedic-type films similar to some of the Wayans Brothers work, then this is the film for you. Prepare yourself for a crazy flight aboard the Soul Plane.
Come Aboard The Soul Plane - By: Steven Stewart, 31 Mar 2006 Now you think of a black comedy & you think about the stereotypes & you probably think. "Bah another black comedy" & trust me this is not very unique when you see it because you see alll the cliche's. The Slutty white girl who's dad is oblivious to the fact, the dumb guy who had a high profile job & you never know why because he is stoned half the time & The cliche stereotypical gay guy who minces around like a queen.
Cliches aside you have a reallly fun & enjoyable movie, it didn't stand well in the United States but i found this movie reallly funny & is original in a way.
The story goes like this. A black guy has an accident on an airplane & sues the airline for a few hundred million dollars & this money makes him see the errors in the other airlines operation so he decides to start his own pimped out airline.
Great movie & it is one you should check out because it is very enjoyable.

One of the best comedies I've watched... - By: Raihan Ahmed, 26 Feb 2006 I've seen many black comedies in my time such as the 'Friday' films starring Ice Cube & the old 'Don't Be A Menace To The South Central While Drinking Juice In The Hood'. This film is has to be one of the best I've seen in a long time. It's original in a way that will make many different types of people laugh. So whoever your watching it, you are guaranteed a laugh.
The story is basicallly about an african-american guy from the 'hood' that decides to run his own airline after sueing another airline. The airline that he comes up with is the very best of what anybody would stereotype of what a stereo typical african-american's airline would be. This includes such things as fried chicken being served for dinner or Snoop Dogg, the pilot, dying after eating mushrooms. This films has many jokes & close attention to detail. Definitely worth watching. So check it out.
