Keep those saw blades oiled! - By: sft, 08 Nov 2008
SAW is an ingenious take on the slasher movie franchise. Mixing satisfying puzzle elements with touches of Grand Guignol & inventive camera techniques this movie keeps the viewer entertained from start to finish. And the ending, although highly unlikely given the circumstances, is quite rewarding. Preposterous but great fun.
To my surprise, I really like this film - By: Tonkfan, 06 Nov 2008
I love a good horror movie, & this is original, witty & very, very dark & gory.

Great fun for any horror fan & with an ending I reallly didn't see coming, this shouldn't disappoint.

Great horror movie, full of shocks & twists - By: Chris Wood, 04 Nov 2008
This is the best of the Saw movies by a long chalk. It's gripping & twisted, with some great shocks in it & a very good hold on the viewer. It's gory & it's got some very good surprises in it, as well as setting the audience up for one surprise after another. An excellent film.
Fantastic! - By: mini mouse, 29 Oct 2008
I am not a fan of gory films so had never thought to watch this but my son had told me that Saw was a good film. mmm, someone sawing their foot off! lovely! so I watched it. It is a shame that films like this do not get more recognition. It is a fantastic piece of work with an ending that is truly brilliant, & I can't imagine that the sequels could possibly live up to this but i'll give them a go. I was hooked right from the start & would highly recommend this film. If you don't like gore don't worry coz you reallly don't see much so don't let that put you off. Definitely one of my favourites now.
Derivative but an entertaining watch - By: Simon Oxley, 26 Oct 2008
I suspect that many of the reviewers who think this is very original are probably quite young. To me there is very little that is truly new here & even the reason behind the name of the film is taken straight out of the first Mad Max movie. OK though but not a patch on Seven.
