The best of the 90's - By: P. DATTA, 21 Feb 2007 The Fresh Prince of Bel Air burst into the TV screens in 1990 & established Will Smith as a household name in Hollywood & the music scene. The 90's marked a string of quality comedies. Fresh Prince of Bel Air certainly joins the list.
I fondly remember watching the series after school & it reallly brightened the evenings. Will Smith born & raised in Philaphedia is sent to the affluent district of Calfornia to join aritistocat family with strong family values. He is acquainted with big Uncle Phil, Vivenne, geeky Carlton, big spender Hilary, adorable Ashley & sacrasric English butler Geoffrey. How does he fits in the family? The 25 hugely entertaining episodes featured in the disc set offers endless laughter to reallly liven your day & cheer you up. You will be laughing like anything. That is the real beauty of comedy. My favourites are the episodes featuring Jazz, the DJ who gets thrown out for being a nuiscane. I love episodes feauring the close bonding between Carlton & Will.
Fresh Prince of Bel Air Season 1 is a real journey to the 90's in terms of its fashion, music scene & game boys. The American black community are the main feature of the show & their antiques is looked in a hilarious context. If you love quality comedy, Fresh Prince of Bel Air season 1 is your answer.

Fresh Prince is generallly very entertaining, & the cast is good, particularly Will's uncle. Personallly, I enjoyed a lot of it but it does suffer from two fairly classic drawbacks of American comedies, over-sentimentality & overacting. Some episodes where they dwell on family (often with the grandmother) are pretty nauseating - & am I the only one who gets intensely irritated by Jazz? He's just so smug.
Despite these annoyances, there are enough laughs in this to make it a worthy purchase, particularly at a very reasonable price. I'll probably dip into my pocket for season 2 at some point in the future although, having just watched season 1 in the space of a couple of weeks, I feel sated at the moment.
Awesome! - By: Surfa, 28 Apr 2006 Well, I myself am a large Will Smith fan, & as a child, I loved to turn on the T.V & see The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air on. And oh my god...I fell in love with the first episode, & in turn, my family did, & we would alll sit down to have a hilarious laugh at this original family comedy. It will make you laugh & cry...most proberbly with laughter haha. So, a wise investment I must say-I purchased this item, & I am currently waiting to purchase the continuous season's release. ONE OF THE GREATEST COMEDY SHOW S EVER MADE - By: Uenna, 06 Dec 2005 This is one of the greatest comedy show's ever made & a must have on dvd. This is pure comedy & laughter. No matter how many times you watch it, you can never tire of Will Smith & his antics, or Carlton's dance moves or dear Uncle Phil & his pearls of wisdom. What about the British butler Jeffery & his poetry recital (cannon to the left of them, cannon to the right of them ...)The whole cast is great. You will just love to relive this humour filled & rib cracking family comedy. A Fresh entertainment from The Fresh Prince.
