Final doomed series....watchable but a bit daft - By: Mr. F. M. Havicon, 25 Jan 2010
Series 3 of Enterprise was enough to scare away intelligent viewers with its over-lengthy telling of the Xindi tale, replacing science with shot-guns - so Series 4 had a lot of damage to rebuild, & got off to a very bad start with some silly alternate-history Nazi WW2 story. If you manage not to cringe at those opening episodes, you might just make it through the rest of the series which improves & starts filling in a lot of the cracks left by the series as a whole, setting up conventions for the original & follow-on series....and also, rather misguidedly, having a go at telling us how Klingons changed in appearance from the original series to TNG. They should have just left that as a special effects discontinuity gaff. Watching these episodes, you can understand why the viewing public just walked away from it & the series got cancelled. The CGA effects are superb, but the stories.....you couldn't have copied them off the back of a packet of cornflakes.
If you've managed to see some of the shared internet files of this series, you'll be delighted that there are 6 additional episodes here that never made it even that far.
the best of the worse - By: Shard, 27 Nov 2009
Definitely the best series of Enterprise, but the worse star trek series.

Overalll, way below Voyager & TNG.

No wonder it got cancelled.

Now were stuck with the reboot...

excellent season - By: E. Richter, 11 Nov 2009
I have very much enjoyed watching the 4th & final season of Enterprise. I especiallly like the concept of a story going on for 2 or 3 episodes. This approach has alllowed for a more detailed development of stories. It was also good to see things that are mentioned in later series that I personallly have always wondered about. Most of the stories provided at least some of the answers I was looking for while at the same time creating potential development archs for future seasons (though, unfortunately, we will never get to see them).

The only episode I didn't like was the final one. It felt like this episode belonged into a TNG series rather than Enterprise. It left me with the impression that the cast of Enterprise had been demoted to supporting acts rather than being the main attraction. I suspect, that the author(s) creating this story had envisioned it to be the final episode of season 7 but with the abrupt end of Enterprise an excuse was needed to pull it into the 4th. And I must say, they found a rather bad excuse taking away the last opportunity for the Enterprise & its crew to shine from the cast.

All in alll, an excellent season well worth the time & money.

If Only.... - By: Andrew Morton, 18 Sep 2009
I recently rewatched Enterprise Season 4 & found it profoundly bittersweet. If only Seasons 1 & 2 could have been of this standard. They were by no means bad, but Season 4 reallly is something special. The characterisations attain a level of consistency an 3-dimensionality that Voyager never managed over its 7 year run. The scripts are taut & laced with humour. Acting performances are top-notch.

And then there are the stories. As the show headed toward cancellation every opportunity was siezed to make it classic Trek. We got the origins of the Federation. We got Surak & T'Pau. We got the Mirror Universe. We got the legacy of the Eugenics Wars. We learnt what kind of planet Andoria is & something of Andorian culture. This season was a great ride & I was sorry when it was over. If only....

Bittersweet apart I wholeheartedly recommend this set to anyone who likes Star Trek - or any kind of good television.
