Laugh 'til you head falls off! - By: David E. Black, 19 Jan 2008
I've never been a fan of US sitcoms, Friends, Frasier, Seinfeld, Cheers, etc until, that is, I found ELR. Early morning UK TV introduced me to the Barones & after watching a few episodes I was completely hooked. It has caused me to rave to those who will listen & they too have been converted. By far the funniest sitcom to reach our shores from the US. It makes me laugh out loud, something that rarely happens & that alone determines the depth of what it does to me. Every character has a strong yet independant role & the storylines are so close to home it's uncanny. Trust me, watch & behold. I guarantee you'll be readily converted too!

ELR (All Series) - By: Mark Butler, 21 Dec 2007
Once you know the characters each episode is a joy to watch. You can't fail to smile thru each storyline. The main cast are superb -as are alll the additional extras.Script is reallly funny(excellent scriptwriters)and subjects covered are true to life & you can identity with human traits in storylines.
If you dont smile or laugh out loud when viewing either you've got sound muted OR your a miserable git with not an ounce of humour in you!
"Frank"no longer with us ,but never to be forgotten for his wonderful contribution to this comedy series.
No longer in production, but this was a gem of sitcom comedy.
No rating, just a question - By: sigidrifa, 10 Nov 2007
Hi,
Great series. I just wanted to know if anyone is able to tell me which languages & subtitles are available on the DVD "Everybody loves Raymond".
Best wishes
Because Everybody Loves Raymond - By: DL Productions UK, 19 Oct 2007
Ray Romano is Ray Barone, a sports writer, who's married to Debra, a beautiful young woman who's always trying to do the best she can; they have two twin boys Michael & Geoffry & daughter Allie. They live across the street from their nagging parents, Marie, a self-obsessed mother who's always right & Frank, a lazy guy who clicks his fingers & Marie does what he wants.
This series was terribly overlooked - it's very funny & it's probably the best for Robert - you get to see his more closed side, the way he doesn't reallly interact with the family & has his values, his more serious police side is so prominant. It's also one of Ray's funnier seasons, though it's a tough calll, but it's definately a classic that ELR fans need to watch, even if they came into it very late.
Some of the best episodes include the one where Ray fancies a waitress at Nemo's - speciallly when Robert asks for a lot of cheese; the one where Frank beats Ray at poker & Robert uses his policing skills & of course the one where Debra makes the fish for the thanksgiving lunch.
All the characters are very strong, there's not one I can point to & say they're ruining it, which is refreshing. The show does have a family angle to it but at times has a darker undertone which makes it funnier, like the way Ray's always trying to get some time with Debra & their annoyances.
The DVD transfer is pretty good too, in it's 4:3 framing & the colour is rich at alll times. The sound is also very clear & as good as the originals. The only gripe I have, & why it lost a star is because of the lack of extras, though the last disk does have some great stuff, I've have loved to see more commentries & inside looks like they did with Seinfeld.
This is a good boxset, definately worth grabbing, speciallly at this value.
