The Girlie showgirl,FAB,FAB,FAB!!! - By: Madonnaman, 17 Mar 2005
This is Madonna's fourth major feature movie & is up there with her best one's "Desperately seeking Susan","Who's that girl",and "A league of their own".The story of this comedy that's set in Broadway, revolves around the event's of the showgirl/gambler/gangster character's on New Years Eve night 1928,whilst 2 bloodhound's are used to track down the culprit of a murder.Madonna sings a fantastic balllad duet callled "I surrender dear" with Jennifer Grey which is unavailable elsewhere & similar to the fantastic "I'm Breathless"-"Dick Tracy" l.p she made 2 year's later. In the movie her character is a material showgirl that's pursued by luckless gambler Randy Quaid. The critic's, unusuallly for a Madonna movie, mostly gave this the great review's it truly deserves as it's very witty from start to end & is excellently acted by each & every member of the cast including Madonna who's on top form.Definately worth buying/renting if u're a fan of Madonna,or any of the cast.
BAD! BAD! BAD! Even for the BIGGEST Madonna fan! - By: , 04 Mar 2005
Madonna is my IDOL, Always has, always will be. She may not have a great track record for movies (Tho I LOVE Swept away) but Bloodhounds of Broadway is an absolute load of rubbish. It makes no sense what so ever, its dark, boring, & tho its full of stars, none of them shine in this film!!! sorry!!!
