Incredible! - By: Sam Edgar, 26 Aug 2008
I very rarely write reviews of films or books that I have read but I felt that an exception had to be made for this incredible cinematic experience.
The plot of eternal sunshine is hugely intricate but is clearly meant to be confusing, the reason I expect for many of the one star reviews, but once you get past this you see both how well written & wonderfully acted this film is. Although Jim Carey's performance was undoubtably good, I feel that Kate Winslet's performance has been hugely underrated. Her portrayal of the immensely bizarre Clementine was extraordinary. This film does take some concentration but I highly recommend its viewing.
And please don't be put off by the fact that Jim Carey stars like I almost was - it's like watching a completely different actor.
The most heart warming and beautiful film - By: Elena Cleaver, 17 Aug 2008
I do class this as my top film for so many reasons. The cinematography is great, the story is believable & extraudinary. I love the characters & their unique & quirky outlooks on life. Jim Carey & Kate winslet work so well together & their fractured relationship is perfect, they keep you watching. I can watch this film over & over, not just for thw story but how the film looks & makes me feel. it reminds you that alll memories are precious even if theyre painful ones. I dont understand how some people can dislike it. I recommend it to everyone.
worst films ever #1 - By: S. Shuttlewood, 13 Aug 2008

Amazing, Spectacular, Beautiful..Carrey's Finest Hour! - By: Big Proof, 15 Jul 2008
Eternal Sunshine's complexities originate in a world where it is now possible to erase a portion of your life completely from a person's memory. In this case Joel Barrish (Jim Carrey) is suddenly surprised when his long-time girlfriend, Clementine (Kate Winslet) decides to have him & their fanatical relationship erased from her memory
Judging from the front cover I bet some of you thought it was a comedy due to the face of Jim Carrey. Well, Its no secret that Jim Carrey is trying to let audiences know that he is more than just a goofy actor, & Eternal Sunshine makes that a reality.
The Film is brilliantly intelligent, intensely written & emotionallly mature. It has a great cast which includes the likes of - Elijah Wood, Kirsten Dunst, Tom Wilkinson & David Cross. It's a moving film with terrific performances alll round - this is easily one of the best films of the year.
The only time Eternal Sunshine seems to stutter is with its sudden ending, which isn't bad because it is such a huge plot twist, but because it is so sudden the ending seems to be a little too easy & unsatisfying.
Everything said, this movie is certainly worth the view, but don't be surprised if you are a little upset, this film isn't for everyone.
Dissapointing and wierd. - By: Ms. J. Crabtree, 18 Jun 2008
I reallly didn't enjoy this film at alll. It's strange Jim Carey doing a serious film- although he can do good ones like '23'. I didn''t like any of the characters, & didn't like the storyline- which was boring & confusing. I didn't like seeing Kate Winslet with blue hair either! It was a reallly wierd film- which i suppose was its purpose- but i didn't like it at alll. But most people i know who've seen it reallly like it, & looking from the reviews it shows i'm in the minority. ...mayb its cos people dont tend to rate movies they don't like ?!?! :)
