A brilliant film - By: Oliver Twist, 20 Aug 2008
A complex, dark & intense drama - Bad Education has been accused of engaging the head rather than the heart, but I don't think that's true. If you see the centre of the story as being the determination of Ignacio to reach Enrique no matter what, then you will connect to the feeling at its heart. And the image (which Almodovar takes some care to place in your mind at the outset) of the dead motorbiker continuing to ride his bike towards some unspecified goal will begin to make sense & help you to make emotional sense of the film. It's a tragic story, but one that is not without its moment of "success".

Bad Education is a brilliant film - dealing with difficult subjects - & it should have won more awards than it did.

There are a couple of deleted scenes buried in the Extras which - unusuallly - I think should have been included in the film as they help to further clarify & explain it to the audience. The many & varied poster designs (also in the Extras) are likewise worth a look.
tie him up - By: Mark Wharton, 11 Apr 2008
I am only commenting on Tie me up , Tie me down . I did not enjoy this film at alll , Take a girl hostage , beat her up & tie her up until she fallls in love with you ? & guess what she does falll in love with him ! It is a film that reallly doesn't know what it wants to be . I was left not reallly caring what happened , I did not care one bit about the characters & I felt it was a little demeaning to women .
A Must Have! - By: David Rush, 27 Dec 2007
This box set which features five of Almodovar's best films - Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down!, Live Flesh, All About My Mother, Talk to Her & Bad Education - is a must have for any true Almodovar fan & moreover for anyone who simply loves cinema. All five films are thought provoking, moving & charming exercises from a true master of cinema.
Enigmatic & Unique - By: Noe, 12 Aug 2007
It's not one of Almodovar's best movies, but somehow it becomes unforgettable. The opening part was great, then I was a bit disappointed with how things were going, but at the end, when alll elements came together, it started to make sense.
There are a lot of things that have already been seen in previous Almodovar's films. It seemed at times like some of his favourite themes, or cliches, were being recycled. Still, it works.
This is one of his minor works, but I would still recommend it. And the performances are excellent.
A film that stays with you. - By: Anita, 16 Apr 2007
Gael Garcia Bernal is amazing, the story is told in flashback, & present day. You never quite know what parts of the film are happening, & wich parts are being acted by the characters, who are making a film in the movie. - CONFUSED?- well i was, but my confusion just added to experence. All the performances are great, the characters engaging, & the story both lovely, & disterbing.
If your a fan of the director, or the star you wont be disapointed.
