Rock n Roll Circus - By: Mr. M. J. Murphy, 20 Mar 2008
If you love guitars & 60s music by its biggest stars then this DVD is quite simply the best audio/visual treat I have ever laid eyes on,it has everything!I wont be too chronological about the show itself but basicallly it starts off with an entre parade by alll the performers to circus music, its so exciting its unbelievable! The fun begins with Mick Jagger introducing Jethro Tull playing Song For Jeffrey then Keith introduces 3 numbers by The Who which I think is followed by Taj Mahal,in between different artists the circus theme, inside a circus tent is heightened by circus acts-fire breathers, trapeze artists & so on,it is an experience,I assure you! You are also treated to a funny little conversastion between Jagger & John Lennon as the latter introduces two numbers by the supergroup The Dirty Mac made up of Lennon,Richards,Eric Clapton (who is very young, has a beautiful Gibson 335 & will have your eyes popping out at his playing) & Mitch Mitchell on drums,Im almost weeping thinking about this part of the show, the first song is Lennons Yer Blues, its just phenomenal, they do another number with Yoko & a French Violinist, again, phenomenal, the strking thing about the whole show is its dirty authenticity & style, its a delight for the eyes & ears it reallly is,this dvd will make you learn how to play a guitar,it is that powerful & so much fun, just watching John Lennon in his denim gear, long hair & dirty white plimsouls with those glasses on belting out the songs with the supercool Keef on Bass & Eric, little Eric, with his tie dyed top on playing blistering solos with a cigarette beside him burning away on his amp beside him,ts so cool, your right there on the stage with them, theres no distanced cameras, your right there like the crowd of students in the circus tent watching the show, its just so honest & cute & to round it alll off you get The stones at the end doing five or six of their best numbers with Brian Jones-Jack Flash,Sympathy,No Expectations,Parachute woman,You Cant Always Get & Salt Of The Earth,if this DVD aint in your collection, you dont have a collection! I think I will go & watch it....again! Best value for money DVD Ive ever seen, buy it,NOW!!!!!
