Super Douper!! - By: Natalie King, 12 Feb 2006
For any ABBA fans - this is something you MUST add to your collection. It is hours of pure ABBA Bliss.

It focuses around the time of the Mamma Mia 25th Anniversary when Benny, Bjorn, Frida & Agnetha were alll invited to London to reunite & celebrate 25 years of ABBA. It shows Benny arriving...and Bjorn...then Frida turns up (sporting a new lovely blonde hair do) but will Agentha show...?

The documentary captures the excitement of the event, shows Mamma Mia rehearsals, lots of ABBA footage & some lovely interviews with Bjorn & Frida.

Frida, especiallly, makes a huge contribution to the dvd, giving a long full interview, answering many great questions about her ABBA days etc..and a few times showing that her great humour is still there along with that naughty laugh & mysteriousness she's always had. She is just radiant.

The highlights of the dvd for me alll surround Frida. Firstly when Frida is in her dressing room & she is combing her hair & then goes into her wardrobe & says "What will i wear tonight? Maybe this? Or maybe this....(and pulls out her Orange Waterloo costume & holds it up to her)...do you know when i last wore this? It was 1974 in Brighton when we won the Eurovison Song Contest with Waterloo...". It's just a lovely little scene. :-)

Then when Mamma Mia are performing Dancing Queen on stage & back stage Pete Waterman talks a little about how Frida was his Dancing Queen & he's standing beside her etc & you can hear the Dancing Queen chorus & Frida can't help but sing along "Haaaaving the tiiime of youur liiife - oooohhhh" lol. It's just the most wonderful moment but she is loving it completely & says something about wishing it was them back out there & your heart just melts.

The third higlight is just after this when Benny & Bjorn walk out on stage & thank everyone for coming & then say that there is a special lady they would like to introduce & how without her none of this would have ever been possible - FRIDA. And Frida is walked onot the stage with some guy from the cast & she gets her shoe heel caught in the stage floor!! lol It's so funny, she has to stop & pull it out the floor then walks out to stand beside Benny & Bjorn with the shoe in her hand before leaning on Bjorn & Benny helping her put her shoe back on!! It's a great laugh then she ever so sweetly says "As you can see i have not been on stage in a very long time - i even lose my shoe!" It's so sweet & lovely & you just kinda go "Awwwwww Frida!!" lol. :-)

Must buy this dvd - even if it's just for that scene! :-)

The memory lives on! - By: , 23 Sep 2004
Having watched this when it was televised on ITV recently I was delighted to be able to purchase the DVD too. There are an extra 30 minutes of extras on here including a great interview with Frida who more or less answered alll the questions that I would have asked.
The main documentary itself shows alot about Abba from their early days as a group & as individuals, at their peak & right up to the 30th Anniversary of Abba which sees 3 of the original members reunite at the 5th Anniversary of the musical Mamma Mia (can you guess which member declined to attend?)
What made it more interesting was that there were some footage of Abba that I had not seen before, I especiallly like the b/w clip of Frida singing the Supremes hit 'Baby Love' in Swedish.Just watch her 2 backing singers behind her, reallly camping it up.
All in alll this DVD is a must for every Abba Fan. It gave me a more indepth insight into my favourite member Frida who's english sounded the best i'd ever heard her speak.

BUY THIS DVD! I swear you won't be disappointed. It's 2 hours of pure heaven.

Abba - Gold! - By: , 22 Sep 2004
Absolutely fantastic - I could watch this again & again & thoroughly recommend it for anyone with even a vague interest in Abba. Highly emotional & very enjoyable piece of programming - a perfect tribute to a perfect four.

May they live on for another 30 years!
