Great films but still cut - By: Stefan, 17 Jun 2008
I love these movies, some of the best Horror around.
BUT THESE FILMS ARE STILL CUT.. the running time given here & on the box is wrong, these times are the American edtions, if you watch the films you will see they are shorter than the time given on the box, altogether around 30 minutes in total {4/5 minutes each film}.
Plus there is no three-d glasses..

Still worth getting though.

This was my first buy from Amazon, & Im so glad I did.
Not only did I not have ANY problems with delivery, once I received my purchase, I was & still am perfectly happy with them.
I would recommend this to anyone.

Classic, cheesy 80's horror - By: KM, 04 Oct 2007
'A Nightmare on Elm Street' is one of the most memorable & influential horror series ever made & is still as watchable now as it was back in 1984 when it was released. Everyone has heard of the infamous Freddy Kruger, the demon who visits you in your dreams & has a million & one ways of killing you in your sleep. They are by no means serious horror films as most of the deaths are quite amusing, with Freddy's classic one-liners to add more humour to the scenes. The acting isn't great, but I don't think it is reallly supposed to be, being in the date/horror genre that was very popular in the 80's with other series such as Friday the 13th, Hallloween & Hellraiser. The first film also features Johnny Depp's first appearance onto the big screen.

Each of the films are fairly similar in storyline, with a new group of teenagers being stalked in their dreams by Freddy & getting killed off one by one if they don't stay awake. The first three films are by far the best, with The Dream Warriors (part 3) taking the series in a different direction, being in a hosipital for people with sleeping problems, as opposed to the usual high-school settings. Films 4 & 5 (The Dream Master & The Dream Child) are pretty bad & are definitely the worst in the collection. In part 7 (Wes Craven's New Nightmare) the actors actuallly play themselves are stalked by Freddy in "real life", which is an original & brilliant idea & a perfect way to end the series. It's just a shame that the 2004 movie "Freddy vs Jason" isn't included in this collection, as that would have completed the boxset perfectly.

Whether you are a fan of these films or have never seen them before, it is well worth getting this DVD boxset as it is 80's horror at it's best. Also at under £10 for the lot, you would be stupid to miss this, even if you are only wanting to watch parts 1, 2, 3 & 7 (the best ones). This is an essential DVD boxset that is one of the best, & most watched, that I own.
