Women Lib - By: M. G. Hatfield, 05 Aug 2008
Mulan 2 is the sequal to the classic story of the girl who took her father's armour & when off to join the chinese army to fight off the invading Huns.
This story is about Mulan & Chang escorting Three Princess across China Mulan seem a lot more modern in this film & the princess end up with the soliders from the frist movie.
Mulan & Chang clash a lot more in this movie & the music isn't that great but Eddie Murphy returns as the wise cracking Dragon & lifts in slightly but it lost some of the magic the original had but as nearly always the classic is always better.
Don't bother - By: Leyonne, 05 Nov 2007
What happened? Have alll the Disney storywriters snuffed it over the course of the last three years? Have the animators gone blind? In short, what happened to Mulan?
I think Mulan was the last Disney movie deserving the title of a "classic". And epic, funny, dramatic, engaging & colourful movie. This sequel is not much of a movie, but when you compare it to the "proper" film, there is not many positive things to say about it.
To begin with the story, I have to say that I find it incredibly lacking. The structure is boring & the characters have changed from versatile & loveable to static, boring & overdone.
The colourful & not to mention beautiful visuals are gone, & we are left with something so boring & at times even crude, that it is hardly worthy of the title "movie".
Sequels are hardly ever great (with the exception of the lion king 2). but this is such a crude movie, bereft of alll the diversity we have come to expect from Disney, that alll in alll, I would reccommend you to not bother watching this, it would be a complete waste of time.
Pleasantly Enjoyable - But poor Mushu! - By: G. Bright, 03 Feb 2006
Disney sequels are hardly ever found to be as good as the first film (unless they're made by PIXAR) so I approached this without any high expectations. Nevertheless despite a weak storyline & a slightly disappointing ending this movie was quite enjoyable. I must agree Mulan 2 was very mushy in places but I think that what gave it the majority of its charm. The songs weren't too bad either, but they sure injected a barrelfull of nastiness into Mushu. I swear he wasn't THAT selfish in the first movie!
Recommended for the lovebird within alll of us. Pity they never used that deleted scene with the fight in the real feature, it was neat.
better than i expected - By: , 28 Feb 2005
this film had me chuckling throughout, the characters were true to their originals & my three children were completely engrossed.
enough of a story to keep adults interested & reallly fun songs for the kids.
Good, but not as good as original - By: Caroline Green, 21 Feb 2005
The storyline is a bit weak & while the animation & characters are as good as the original, they lack some of the sparkle. This will appeal to the younger crowd much more than the original movie. Most Disney movies these days have an adult appeal, but this one lacks it. I will keep it for my niece & nephews to enjoy until thay outgrow it.
