A trip into the lives of a teenager - By: Stampy, 30 Jul 2008
Scott Mechlowicz (Mean Creek) stars as Scott Thomas, a shy & hurt teenager who travels across Europe to tell his internet friend that he loves her.

In a good & energetic mood, I decided to stay up to watch this teen rom com from the makers of Road Trip, & though not being mentallly challlenged or given something new, I was entertained by the sheer light heartedness & the humorous scenarios the wacky sex driven protagonists find themselves in.

After seeing a very amusing looking Matt Damon (The Bourne Identity) in the opening scene as a punk rocker, & then singing a song that embarrasses Thomas right infront of his friends, I knew that this was worth watching, & it only got better.

Though predictable in every sense of the word, the plot pans out smoothly as Scott & his bizarre friends accompany him on a journey across Europe & there are so many laughs along the way, none more so than when they arrive at a nudist beach, & when they arrive in Holland & England, watch out for Vinnie Jones, who is hilarious in a role as a footballl hooligan.

The film follows typical teenage conventions, such as geeks, sex & rock & roll, & alll are executed in a humorous way by director Schaffer, whose direction works well with the timing of the comedy. Having never reallly seen any teen comedies apart from old school & a bit of road trip & American pie, I have little to compare this to, but there is little doubt it follows a similar convention in plot & humour.

The film contains quite heavy references to nudity & sex throughout, & though effective, can be quite crude & shocking.

The idea of travelling across many countries to find the girl of your dreams is sweet & exciting, & this ideology also helps keep the mood & energy up.

Euro trip, though predictable, gets the humour spot on, particularly the physical side, the characters are likeable & the idea of the journey alone is worth the hour & a half watch.

Pretty Awful - By: Seabornwolf, 29 Jul 2008
This actuallly got 3 stars in the Radio Times! Being a fan of the genre (American Pie, Road Trip etc) it sounded good so I gave it a try. Blummin' Woeful!! A reallly tired attempt with 2nd rate characters paling against the Stiflers & Kyles of this world.
Eurotrip?? I doubt they left the USA with bad looking sets & dodgy back drop effects. Pretty much a waste of my time & theirs reallly. The out-takes at the end was the best bit about the film & the sole reason this gets 2 stars instead of 1!
What a disappointment! - By: John Roger Millard, 12 Jun 2008
Having read so many ultra-positive reviews of this film, I bought it. Only to discover that it is by far the least funny film of this genre that I've ever seen. The so-callled jokes are in the 'haven't I seen that somewhere before' category, & alll the acting is appalllingly bad. It just is not funny. And the final piece of ignominy is when there are shots of some horribly ugly apartment buildings (actuallly in Prague) but the story tells us they are Bratislava! I can't imagine that my friends in Slovakia enjoyed THAT slur very much.
Amazing. - By: J. Aulakh, 18 Sep 2007
There are no other words for this film. I was recommended it by a friend, so I bought it. I cried I was laughing so hard. I'm now forcing alll my friends to come over & watch the film with me. It's truly hilarious & brilliant. The story lines make you laugh so hard your ribs hurt. The Italian guy on the train made me laugh the most though. It's definitely influenced me to travel Europe in my gap year. :)
Great lightweight film - By: Embersfire, 09 Aug 2007
For any night when you are having a beer & a barbie, & you don't want to think too hard. The song is soooo catchy, & the mad list of famous people just doing the odd scene is great. The bit with the bus & Vinnie Jones is excellent. Just don't try to take it seriously!
