"Don't believe his lies " - By: L. Davidson, 15 Dec 2005
"Memento" is a film which requires several viewings to appreciate it properly. It has a reverse narrative a la "Mulholland Drive" & "Irreversible" (it probably inspired both of them) & it is gripping from start to finish. The film is about Lenny (Guy Pearce) ,who has been suffering from severe short term memory loss since the rape & murder of his wife. He can recalll the details of his life up until this incident, but nothing since it; his memories of people & places fade away in seconds, like the proverbial goldfish in a bowl. As he tries to hunt down his wife's killer , he uses Polaroids, Tattoos & Post-Its to remember key facts & people, but his condition leaves him open to deception & manipulation. The plot is complex & intelligent, the acting excellent & the reverse narrative conveys the confusion & uncertainty of Lenny's condition perfectly. A memorable film.
Seem to be errors with Amazon's product description - By: Alan Sturgess, 06 Dec 2005
Great film, I agree with other reviewers.

Reason for this message is to point out that you may not receive exactly what Amazon describe.

I clicked on this 'Special Edition' version & noted that it was a 3-disc edition. I ordered it & received a single disc whose cover made no mention whatsoever of it being a 'special edition', BUT alll nine extra features were featured (this includes 'Memento Mori') & the product code number matched the one listed by Amazon.

This is VERY confusing. However, it does look as if the single disc contains everything. Fortunately, I used an outstanding affiliate seller ('Illuminate') & between us we quickly resolved what appeared to be a problem.

So - if you order this version & expect 3 discs, that may not be what you actuallly receive.

Cleaver, great twists, and a totally uniqiue film - By: venom_v1, 09 Sep 2005
Momento is one of those films that comes along once in a blue moon.

Its a film that has a uniqiue stroytelling style, its told backwards. This gives the film a uniue edge. As rather than knoing the end giving the film away, it provides shocks & surprizes about the charcters whom you think that you have worked out.

With some truly brillant acting from the whole cast, Momento is a true gem of a film & not to be missed

A bit too clever - By: , 16 Aug 2005
Memento is a great fresh of breath air its original, smart, funny & sick (The scene with the beer jug at the bar)
Its very well acted, but there are problems & the main one is; it is too long & slow which will turn people off & the second is (not the director or writers fault) that being told backwards does start to get repetitive thats why it should have been shorter.
The ending is great if you just stick on, well worth the money
Thank God I Bought This! - By: Ben HO, 02 Aug 2005
My life would not be complete without this stupendous film of revenge, especiallly in the pecial Case that it arrives in.
This tale about a man who's wife has been murdered & has short term memory loss is fantastic, & the best phycological thriller, possibly with the exception of M. Night Shyamalan films is well worth the money.
Starring Carrie Anne Moss & Christophewr Nolan as two lead roles, the acting standard is very high & with the alternating B/W scenes then the colour scenes, meeting in the middle, workin inwards from different directions, you feel confused the 1st time but then the second watch it is funny.
Worth the price tag. Spectacular.
