not for fans of muscle cars - By: Abel Davos, 27 Nov 2007
If you enjoyed "Vanishing Point", "Dirty Mary Crazy Larry", the original "Gone In 60 Seconds" or even "Two-Lane Blacktop", do NOT buy this movie. Even counting interior shots, the lovely 1969 GTO Judge Pontiac is seen for a total of less than five minutes in the entire movie, mostly mute & static. It is seen driving for barely more than two minutes. Instead center stage is given to product placement of the then-new 2004 Holden Monaro GTS, here callled a Pontiac GTO for the US market. The movie itself has no merits either in storyline, dialogue or acting & completely wastes a competent character actor like Fred Ward. Get any of the above movies or "Deathproof" instead. If you need to have car trash with Dennis Hopper, get his infinitely better 1981 "King of the Mountain".
the last ride review by josh hinchcliffe - By: josh hinhcliffe, 31 Oct 2004
after goin to the video store & finding nothing i turned to The last ride by Rob Cohen the diretor if such films like xXx, the fast & the furious etc as you can expect it is an octane packed action film. the acting & performance is convincing making an overalll good film. the only criticism of the film is at first i jus thoght it was a 3 fast 3 furios version, with the street racing scence comming into play again. the film is good & deserves 4 stars if you are an action fan but the overalll disk is dissapointing, with no special features i was found wanting. i recomend the movie if the fast & the furious, xXx tickled your fancy. however be worned if a intellaged thought prevoking flick is wht you are lookin then stay away but a good buy if action is your thing.
