One Of The Funniest Stand-Up Shows - By: Ms. C. L. Harwood, 28 Sep 2008
If you liked Black Books, then you will definately find this show funny. Monster is an extension of Bernard Black's character - anyone who has seen behind-the-scenes photos & videos knows Dylan Moran is not entirely the miserable, grumpy, cynical man he portrays in this show, but that's what's so funny.

His comedy is odd & original, I honestly can't compare him adequately to anyone else. I would definatley recommend this DVD, & personallly I would love to see more of his work. He is my favourite comedian by far.
The Man Does Ireland Proud - By: Steven Stewart, 17 Jun 2008
For those who may experience watching Dylan for the first time, they may not get the gag & they may not get the person behind the mic. Dylan has always had the moniker of being the relaxed rambling comedian of whom some may see as a ridiculous drunk talking a load of crap, but to others he is seen as a genius of random comedy & is someone that can do an entire country proud. Understanding the man behind the mic & understanding where he's going with the comedy isn't reallly that difficult, as you come to notice there's a method behind the madness.

I recently had the pleasure of seeing Dylan Live in person as a part of the Three Fellas tour, along with Tommy Tiernan & Ardal O'Hanlon. I must say I was there just to see Moran & I wasn't disappointed as he tore the roof down with his witty non-sensical humour & ramblings that have you roaring with laughter, yet at the same time have you raise an eyebrow & ask yourself "Wait what did he say?"

He's a truly brilliant comedian & Monster is the DVD that must introduce you to this wonderful comedian.
Spectacular comedy - By: Robert Head, 13 Apr 2008
This is the most raucous, most funny, most dizzying stand-up performance that these eyes've ever witnessed. His observation is as sharp as a jagged edge tapered to the single atom, & his musings are spot on. He comes accross as a stumbling drunkard, but he reallly is - after you've given him 5 minutes - on the balll to such a degree that he & the balll are one. Anyone who gives this lower than 4 has their head where their arse should be, & their arse... somewhere else.
Safe as houses - By: Iain P. Wishart, 10 Dec 2007
I think that fatherhood, fame & international travel have dulled Dylan -his last show at the Edinburgh Festival was entirely predictable stuff - it is hard to be funny when you don't drink as much & you become grown up.
Side-splitting, cry with laughter funny - By: Nic B, 22 Apr 2007
dylan moran is quite simply an amazing stand-up! I went to see him live on the Monster tour & he was absolutely hilarious, comedy genius. as soon as the dvd came out i went & ordered it. dylan's humour is topical to both the wider world & the everydays of life. he has a unique outlook which has none of the ego or self-pomp of american stand-ups, he's definitely in my favourite 3 stand-ups.
for anyone who likes black books, this is a dead cert.
