Worth it for the first two episodes alone - By: ds, 29 Mar 2007
Keitaro & Naru have been cramming for the Todai entrance exams for several months. Finallly the moment arrives, but the things on their minds get in the way & both manage to fail. Independently of each other, they go away to mull things over for a while but, things being what they are, Keitaro & Naru are not apart for long & end up in Kyoto together. It is also the first time we meet the lovely Mutsumi and, fleetingly, Seta. Misunderstandings ensue (mostly stoked up by Kitsune) & the other residents, fearing the worst, go off in pursuit.
Episode 7 talks about Naru's graduation & introduces us to Kentaro (yes, KEN-taro, who also crops up in later episodes), who also has an interest in Naru. Episode 8 is an odd dream-inspired story with Motoko at its centre
This disc is worth it for episodes 5 & 6 alone, where Musumi reallly throws a spanner into Keitaro & Naru's works! The second two episodes are a little more variable & begin a run of three or four where things slacken off a little mid-series.
Clearly none of this will make much sense without watching volume 1 but anyone looking at this will, likely as not, have either seen that or have read some of the manga, so will know who at least some of the characters are.
