Good, fun film, not the best though - By: Kitson, 31 Mar 2005
I first watched this film in 1997 being a huge Knicks fan & was pleasantly suprised. It's fun, not to be taken seriously in the slightest.

Whoopi Goldberg plays Eddie, a limo driver with one love in her life, the New York Knicks, who are on a terrible losing streak. The knicks have been bought by "Wild" Bill Burgess (Frank Langella), who is more interested in the cheerleaders than the basketballl team. Bill quickly gets on the wrong side of the useless head coach of the team Bailey (Dennis Farinna). Eddie wins an honorary coach contest at half time, Bailey quits & Bill hires Eddie as the new coach, purely for entertainment purposes. She has to gain the teams respect & trust before they can start winning, & it's not easy!

What follows is a good, honest laugh. One of the only films that captures the soul of New York basketballl fans. The film includes NBA stars past & present including: Knicks legend Walt Frazier, Gary Payton, Rick Fox, Mitch Richmond, Vlade Divac, Mugsy Bogues, Larry Johnson (another former Knick), Vinnie Del Negro & Dennis Rodman.

One of the best things about this movie is the cameos by the NBA players plus others such as Mayor of New York Rudy Gulianni & David Letterman.

Not one of the best films ever (hence the 3* rating), but if you want a fun, mindless movie for a Saturday night, this is for you.
