i bought this because it was fairly cheap & i do like Westerns. This may never reach the dizzy heights of classics such as The Searchers [1956] or The Good, The Bad & The Ugly - 2 Disc Special Edition [1966] but it does stand out as being a thoroughly enjoyable film.

What works well is the general plot & this is well written so much so that you begin to identify & warm to the various recruits as they become Rangers. What doesn't work is that they have tried to make a 3 or 4 hour film into a 90 minute film & at times your left wondering what happened here or there.

All in alll this is a thoroughly enjoyable Sunday afternoon film.

This is a new movie about the old west in the same vein as The Young Guns led by Emilio Estevez.This bunch are led by the very excellent Dylan McDermott as a man with a past.Young Ashton Kutchner pops up as himself & does a pretty neat job as a man who can draw fast,but who cannot actuallly hit anything.This is brim full of what makes the West so WILD.Good movie.
