Me & Mrs. Jones is a charming and funny romantic comedy with a twist! - By: English Redbird, 20 Aug 2008
Me & Mrs. Jones is a charming & funny romantic comedy with a twist! Appearing on Masterpiece Theater on PBS a few years ago, it was one of my favorite productions with Robson Green! He also sang the title song, "Me & Mrs. Jones", while the title & credits were running. The very well written script by Caleb Ranson fits Robson Green perfectly!

Robson Green plays Liam Marple (writer of the "Mrs. Jones" newspaper column) & is also sometimes known as Harry Fletcher. He wants to be more than a newpaper columnist someday. He wants to write a real novel & not a newspaper column. Liam is divorced, but is still fallling out-of-love with his ex-wife until he meets a beautiful woman.

Michael Maloney plays Ivan McDermott, Liam's best friend, who is sometimes amazed by Liam's actions. Ivan is a fund raiser for the Prime Minister & a bachelor. The relationship between Liam & Ivan is hilarious at times! Their squabbles are sprinkled throughout the whole script.

Caroline Goodalll plays the Prime Minister, Laura Bowden, & Philip Quast plays her husband, Richard Bowden. They have two children & some very big problems! Aisling O'Sullivan plays the Prime Minister's bodyguard, & the Prime Minister depends on her loyalty.

Keeley Hawes plays Jane Galllages, Liam's boss at the newspaper, & just happens to be Liam's ex-wife. Liam drives her crazy sometimes, but he is also a very good writer of the "Mrs. Jones" column, so she keeps him around at the newspaper.

Even the serious parts of the story are very good, & with such a charming & funny romantic script, & very good actors like this, it is a winner!
