a humorous love story with two men fighting for the same woman - By: dan the fan, 04 Jun 2008
This is a humorous film that starts well, gets a little dull & then becomes reallly good for the last 30 minutes or so.Beautiful people in beautiful locations (in Virginia) & some great acting from Topher Grace as Pete the guy who's grown up with Rosalee (Kate Bosworth)over 22 years & secretly wants her as his girlfriend but finds that she's already falllen for the film star Tad Hamilton (Josh Duhamel, who you may have seen as Danny in the tv series Las Vegas). This film is callled Win A Date With Tad Hamilton but Kate Bosworth looks so nice that most male viewers will wish they had won a date with her (her best film is Blue Crush - a surfing movie which is well worth seeing for the outstanding photography of the ocean).
The Marmite Film - By: M. R. Jones, 05 Nov 2007
This is a film you either LOVE or HATE.
Now, I personallly enjoyed the film but I admit I did have to look through its faults & watch with an open mind. Some of the characters are anoying at times. Some are underused. Some are too over the top. But if you look past this it is actuallly quite a good film.
And its a shame that its been blacklisted as another teen comedy. Its not, its a romantic comedy that isn't afraid to try to be funny.
Its a good price, & it will make you laugh with jokes that aren't just aimed at teens.
The cast works well together with some good turns by Nathan Lane & Sean Hayes.
Overalll a good movie.
below average teen romcom - By: Laura Crawford, 31 Mar 2006
I wasn't expecting much from this film - which is good, because I didn't get much. It was basicallly just..dull. There wasn't any humour (not as far as I could see anyway, & I'm usuallly quite easily pleased when it comes to jokes!), & there wasn't reallly much romance.. so basicallly I wouldn't waste your time watching this & definitely not your money buying it! Watch She's All That or Never Been Kissed..now those are great examples of how this genre *should* be done!

This is one of those films that I think people who hate romantic comedies assume they're alll like. I am a huge fan of romantic comedies, no matter how sentimental they are, but was reallly disappointed with this one. The story has potential with a possible nice storyline, but the characters are mostly irritating & the plot becomes so predictable and, unlike most romantic comedies where we're expecting the end & love it anyway, you're thinking if he goes over there & says that, I'm walking out the cinema.
The only good thing about this film is the brief cameo played by Jack from Will & Grace who proves that he can be funny no matter how bad the script.
Overalll, this is a disappointment & a film that can be missed.
