Watch it to see some reasonable performances from the stars, but they can't save it from itself & the direction is appallling. Historical interest only.
Boring! - By: Minaret, 03 Jul 2007 Usuallly I like almost anything with Meryl Streep or Jack Nicholson in it. But I'm sorry, I fell asleep during this film, the plot was so tedious. On the bright side, if you suffer with insomnia, watch it in the bedroom.

This is a truly wonderful movie that women in particular will identify with(especiallly those who have had cheating husbands).
The acting is superb by the whole cast & what could've become an over-dramatic film has wonderful moments of humour that works so well.
You reallly can't give the storyline away on this one-it reallly is one you should see & laugh & cry at.
The soundtrack too is superb-Carly Simon's "coming around again" is so apt.
A MUST SEE FILM IF EVER THERE WAS ONE!!!! - By: C. Conn, 21 Jan 2006 Although the story is quite sad in parts the film is balanced out by a lot of humour. I found myself laughing out loud at this film a lot. It also made me cry.
This has to be one of the best films I have ever seen. I saw this film many years ago & remembered it but it took me a long while to find what the title was. All these years later I found that it was just as good as I remembered!
I feel that a lot of Hollywood movies are let down by the ending but not this one. It has a satisfying ending which I will not give away.
I don't know what more to say without giving away any of the story, so I will just say buy it. You won't be disappointed.

Bell, 28 Dec 2004 Fantastic its on dvd now.I went to great lengths to purchase this film many years ago on video,now its on dvd thats great.This film should be up there with streep & Nicholsons greatest movies in my opinion.Instead this movie has been very overlooked.The story is very touching & many Women can relate to the part played by Meryl,having experianced similar situations themselves.The acting is superb.The backing songs from Carly Simon add to a great film.Do not miss this one.
