Normal Dyer Effort.... - By: Kevin, 11 Nov 2008
3 stars, lifted only because of the book & not because of this plywood acting efort....

Absolutely resounding good book, runied with the usual complete mahogany cameo from dyer, who is supposed to be the main lead role.
He does his best to deliver his nearly below average standard, which, on this occassion, suits the role rather than make it embarrasing, still though, It's embarrasing for Dyer who once more fallls far short of being convincing, & also fallls shorts of delivering what he is capable off.

This last comment is only because I have friends who believe he can do better & not because I have seen any evidence off it.......

Could have been so much better....

Good film for wannabes who've never thrown a punch in their life - By: M. Hallinan, 17 Oct 2008
I know many people love this film & I won't knock this film on the
grounds that it's moronic because that's been done to tears & besides,
it's not the moronic, tedious characters that are the biggest flaw of this awful film. The worst thing about this film is that it has pretensions of being cutting, in yer face social commentary. What it is though, simply is Chelsea Headhunter propaganda with a plot about two ex-servicemen as a meaningless sideshow meant to give a load of Chelsea thug wet dreamery a chin stroking air of authenticity. Just look at the opening scene, a load of Chelsea bowling out of Seven Sisters for a row
in Tottenham like they're out for a Sunday stroll with not a care in the world. Compare this to McIntyre Undercover's description of Chelsea travelling to the same fixture, 'Everyone was uptight, nervous, alot of
tension in the air, no-one saying a word'. And that was before they left
Highbury & Islington station & made it anywhere near Seven Sisters. The
film also claims 'There's only 3 firms worth talking bout, 'Chelsea, West
Ham & Millwalll.' No Cardiff, no Birmingham, Everton, Aberdeen, Boro or
Man Utd then. Just a shame that view isn't shared by the other two mobs
worth talking about. But worser still than the lack of authenticity is the hilariously awful scene where the two west London wide boys falll
foul of a beefy Millwalll thug who declares 'You're in bandit country naaaaaaah'. This is what people who've never seen or been to South London
think people in South London talk like. But I have to say, this film's delusions of grandeur do at least make it funny, & that's why I'm going to be generous & give this banile advertisement in tediousness 1 star. At least it had the decency to be so bad it was hilarious.

The way british films should be! - By: Aj, 10 Jul 2008
A great british film. A look into the gritty reality of the wrking class footballl follower! Danny dyer plays a qulity role as do the supporting cast! For years we have been embarassed for our lack of decent films but this is a breath of fresh air! Awesome!!

so so wrong - By: Ms. F. I. Macdonald, 19 Apr 2008
i was looking forward to seeing this film as i think danny dyer is a good actor & i must admit i do like films based on people who like footballl, this however was something else. It was graphic & i think people who do this kind of thing for a laugh are pathetic, if thats the best way to spend an afternoon then i should be seriously worried. Dyer did a good job of portraying one of these footballl morons but the alll too realistic concept of what these people do makes me sick!
