Fantastic Launch Pad... - By: Mr. Robert J. J. Gould, 10 Feb 2006
this is the first of the films i consider great english movies ie it the first Richard Curtis / Hugh Grant collaboration. the others in the series are Notting Hill, Bridget Jones, Love Actuallly that sort of thing & this is great!
Andie Macdowell is a fantastic actress & i cant understand why her film career wasnt more successful & illustrious!Kristin Scott - Thomas obviously one of the best english actresses ever... simon calllow is a gem as always... john hannah doing emotional & hilarious at the same time & nailing them both... a fantastic movie!
Buy this over the vanilla release... - By: oliraceking, 22 Nov 2005
If you're wanting to buy 4 Weddings on DVD, my advice is buy this one. The picture has been remastered to a level which I didn't think was possible when viewing the old release - extremely impressive. Also the sound has been remastered in 5.1, which although doesn't exploit the rear speakers a lot is a DEFINITE improvement over the vanilla.
The extras, too, are impressive. You get an interesting group commentary by director Newell, Producer Kenworthy & writer Curtis. Also included are; 2 documentaries, TV promotions, good deleted scenes etc. There's also the short featurette which appeared on the original DVD - so you're not missing out by upgrading.
Because DVDs can be bought so cheaply nowadays, my advice is to spend the extra pound or two & buy this - it's worth a thousand more than the old release.

I believe I saw this film at least three times at the cinema. I saw Hugh Grant & fell head over heels in love with him!
This is one of the best British films I have ever seen, the acting is superb, the story is divine (!!)
If you have any soul at alll this will make you laugh & cry. A real romantic rollercoaster without any of the sap.
Enjoy....!!!!!!!
