Not That Good Really - By: Kim Fowley, 18 Jul 2008
I wonder if the two other 5 star reviewrs are a lot younger than me? As a parody this film is not too bad but it is not THAT funny. The action scenes are poor (I've seen better in genuine bad kung fu / ninja films) & the bits where he fights Knife Man & Gun Man are a waste of time.

My interest was only held by Miss Lee who is pretty foxy & I did find her attraction & love for dumb Tongan Ninja funny.

One star has been removed because the region 0 disc has NO extras at alll whereas Region 1 as usual gets loads. When will the dvd industry stop treating Region 2 / PAL like idiots & give them the extras they deserve?

Also, 5 stars to Amazon for delivery in 2 days - impressive.

Overalll I wouldn't reallly bother with this dvd there are better...Spinal Tap or even a Flight of the Conchords dvd, or Kath & Kim etc etc.

Doesn't the guy from Flight look like Mick Jagger????!!
Hey can i have an extra star for this film rating... - By: PPS, 10 Apr 2008
yes ok, this film is a combination of the storylines from alll of the major martial arts films...but that doesn't detrack from the film.

I read the 2 reviews that were here & still bought it. TN isn't a serious film. It is a funny film. There are classic lines as well as classic scenes. The chase scene where TN is following the bad guys is brilliant.

I bought this film, watched it..simply talked about it to a work colleague & within a minute he'd ordered a copy. It is simply a film that ebbs to the funny bone.
Not very good - By: darbzter102, 15 Feb 2008
Don't be fooled by thinking as it has Jermaine Clement (& some writing by Bret McKenzie) that it will be good. Admittedly it does have a few good lines in it but it is too poor & not silly enough to be funny almost appearing too much like the terrible martial arts films its trying to parody.
I felt compelled to warn people of this film due to my mistake in thinking that because it's cheap & has NZ's finest comedians featuring that I should buy it. It also held up my order for a few weeks adding to my supreme disappointment.
The funniest film I've seen for a long time. - By: , 14 May 2004
Tongan Ninja is a strange film. It is a rip take of every other martial arts film, the dubbing is out of time & it looks like it has been filmed on just a normal home camera, but its so good because of this! This film is pure chesse & it had me in stitches watching it. With great characters like Tongan Ninja, Action Fighter & Chef Guy, how could you say no. Its well worth watching!
