awesome - By: Lindymck, 05 Nov 2009
we discover that it is sydneys mother who shoots her in the last epsiode of season 1. what a revelation, the series just moves on from there. syd's mother turns herself into the cia & they use her knowledge & intelligence to bring down SD-6. sydney & vaughn get closer but still maintain a professional relationship. in the demise of SD-6 another crime syndicate emerges in it place, will syd & vaughn manage to foil their plans?? the best cliffhanger ever is in the last episode where syd wakes up in hong kong & after arriving at the safe house vaughn arrives but he has bad news for her, she has been missing for 2 years!!! what will happen to their realtionship now. great plot lines & story arcs, more famous faces as guest stars.

If you like Jennifer Garner, then this is for you.

She has a never ending set of disguises, & can be relied upon to disarm her assailants with ease.

You don't have to think too hard to keep up with the plot so it's easy viewing!

I think this is one of the best series out there & would recommend it to anyone
A brilliant and exciting thriller series - By: DDH255, 10 Jan 2009
Spy Sydney Bristow continues to live her complex double life, the demure agent clad in sombre black & grey suits turning into a brightly clad butterfly for her missions, a double agent whose friends are drawn into the complexities of her life in this fast paced, exciting second series.
Sydney meets the mother who deserted her & betrayed husband & country when Sydney was a young child. A cold blooded killer who claims she has never betrayed her daughter. The scenes between Jennifer Garner & Lena Olin crackle & fizz with tension & mistrust; subtle manipulations of facial expressions communicating the powerful subtext of every encounter. In Garner, Alias is blessed with a versatile & intelligent actress able to transform herself from a cool & sexy heroine into a vulnerable young woman.
Sydney is the victim of a tug of war between two agencies & two parents, neither of whom she has much reason to trust. She begins to question her past & the programming intitiated by her father to train her as an agent & she turns to her CIA handler Michael Vaughan for support.
The artistic direction of the series is obviously impressive; the Japenese sequence is beautifully shot in vivid reds & greens yet we are never far from the dark & murky world of international espionage & terrorism.
This is a fast & exciting series & well worth the time. It is beautifully paced, intelligently constructed & full of surprising plot twists.
