Amazon confused - Different films share the same reviews - By: Too many books, 21 Apr 2008 
Amazon has put alll the reviews of two separate films together, & if you look at either of the films, you see the reviews for both alll jumbled up together. The films are:
1. Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, starring Kevin Costner. Slightly silly & trite, but if you you're a real fan of Kevin Costner, you'll probably enjoy this one too.
2. Robin Hood, starring Patrick Bergin & Uma Thurman. Generallly agreed to be the better of two.
Of course, I told Amazon about their confusion, but nearly a week's gone by & they've had more important things to do, obviously.

Why hasn't thiis film been released here in the UK as a region 2 DVD?
It has some stunning shots of the Cheshire & North Wales countryside as well as being the most authentic Hood film. Prof.J.C.Holt was involved in the story which was badly edited on cinema release. But the original USA tv version is apparently much longer & even more grit & grime.
Come on someone, lets have the full length version on DVD region 2 NOW!

This film was released about the same time as the Hollywood 'Prince of Thieves' travesty, & suffered at the box-office accordingly. But it's a FAR better film, with bucketloads of mediaeval atmosphere, an intelligent script & excellent performances alll round. Needs to come out on Region 2 as soon as possible.

The film description & reviews here alll relate the the 'Prince of Thieves', the trashy Hollwood film. THIS film stars Patrick Bergin & is the more authentic version without the American accents & glitter.
I hope Amamzon notice the error, & I hope the film is soon available as a region 2 DVD.

This film stars Patrick Bergin & is a very authentic film of the popular legend. This film thankfully lacks the American glitter & glamour, & will appeal to those of you who like quality above quantity.
I hope Amazon shift the reviews & film description to the 'Prince of Thieves' film to which they relate. I cannot understand why this film is only available as a Region 1 DVD, which means most English viewers can't play it.
