I remember seeing both this film & 'The Absent Minded Professor' in black & white at the cinema when I was a kid, & I never forgot how funny they were. The earlier one has just been shown an TV, & I was pleasantly surprised to see it had been colourised, & was just as enjoyable for me after alll these years. Sadly, it appears that one is not available to buy on region 2 through Amazon at the moment but this one, 'The Son of Flubber' is.

I reallly wanted to see this one in a colourised version too if possible but, having searched the web, was unable to confirm that this film had ever been given that treatment. However, being on special offer through Amazon I decided to order it anyway. Imagine my delight, then, to discover that the film supplied was indeed in colour!

The films are superbly cast, especiallly Fred MacMurray who I've always loved and, well, you can't reallly go wrong with it being a Disney. Had they remained in black & white, I don't know if they would have as much appeal for those not familiar with them when they first came out but these colourised ones surely give them a new lease of life. If you're dithering about this one, my advice is BUY IT! It's a film which can be enjoyed by the whole family, & I don't think you will be disappointed.

This is one of those films that you will never grow tired of watching. Funny from start to finish, after watching this my cheeks were actuallly hurting! Classic performances by Fred MacMurray & Nancy Olsen. If you buy one classic comedy this year make it this one, you won't regret it!
