Wonderful, but something's missing - By: Akida93, 07 Oct 2007
Before I say anything else, I'll say that I enjoyed this 'midquel.' In fact, I think that The Lion King 1 & 1/2 (or 3) should have gone theatrical. It's sweet, funny & the animation is downright gorgeous. Timon & Pumbaa are two of my favourite characters & I can never get enough of them.
But something's missing. It's that nostalgic feel I get when I watch the first two, especiallly Simba's Pride. It's simply not there. And it's because this was not part of my childhood like the first films were. I have no fond memories of it, since when it came out, I thought I was too old for 'a baby movie like The Lion King,' & so I didn't care for it. It's only when I realised that The Lion King was more than just a mere 'kids movie' was when I decided to rewatch 1 & 2 & try out this new film. As I said, it's good, but it just doesn't have that impact that the first two do.
But that doesn't mean that it's not enjoyable. TLK3 is a satire of the first Lion King, but it's tasteful enough. Just remember not to take it too seriously. The songs are reallly fun to listen to - especiallly 'Diggah Tunnah' - it'll make you hum & tap your feet for ages afterwards. We have two new characters - meerkats Ma & Uncle Max. Ma is played by Julie Kavner who also does the voice for Marge Simpson, although she's not as raspy. If you enjoyed Simba's Pride, you reallly should throw an eye to this. There is just so much to like about it, & any fun-loving Lion King fan will enjoy it!
Laughs From Beginning To End - By: Cao Cao, 08 Jun 2006
I must admit that at 1st I was somewhat puzzled bya 3rd film in the ever popular "The Lion King" series, but after watching this film it lived up to expectations & more!
It's basicallly the 1st film told through the eyes of Timon & Pumbaa & most important of alll how they met up - amust if like me you ever wondered! Watch the film as I won't be giving it away!!
Brilliant songs are included in the film, my personal favourite is the one at the beginning callled "Digga Tunnels" & is sung by the meerkats, there's also "That's All I Need" sung by Timon whilst on sentry patrol - which is actuallly the tune taken from "wWatrhog Rhapsody"!
excellent - By: Don, 26 May 2006
I thought that the Lion King was a good film, not the best but it was good. Then came the sequel which I reallly didn't enjoy. My daughter insisted on watching this 3rd one & I reallly thought it would be just as bad as the second but in fact I think it is my favourite out of alll three. You have to have seen the Lion King to get some of the jokes & to appreciate it but I think this is my favourite out of the lot :)
Brilliant. - By: Bloodflower, 24 Oct 2005
I wasn't too sure about this sequel, but I decided to give it the benefit of a doubt. It turned out to be wonderful!!!!!!!!!! The animations & colors are wonderful, alll the original voice cast is still there, the storyline is both fun & touching - something I would have never expected from a sequel.
I won't give You a plot review, instead I will just very warmly advise to purchase it!!!!!!!!
Timon & Pumbaa are Disney Comedians!!!!!!!!! - By: Max, 24 Sep 2005
If you are a big Timon & Pumbaa fan like I am I would get this wonderful prequel of Disney's enchanting story: The Lion King! This time it is about Timon & Pumbaa, about where they explain how they came before even Simba began & there are some clever lines in this movie like these:
Timon: "Beyond what I see...
Frog: CROAK!
Timon: Beyond what I see, Beyond What I see, I'ts kinda hard to think with alll this music!!! Oh wait a second, it's coming to to me! It's either that bug who I ate or the pittany... I going to the big pointy rock, right?" (wind howls).......
You have to see the movie to see what happens next..
Timon & Pumbaa's humor is so pointless you'll think it's quite funny so get for your Timon & Pumbaa fans like me!!!
