the magnificent 7 deadly sins - By: Meryl M. Heasman, 12 Jan 2006
In my opinion this was a somewhat disappointing film despite it`s alll star cast. However the section with Ian Carmichael & Alfie Bass was very funny & well written. The rest of the sketches were not up to the usual standard that you would expect from these very good performers.
Unusual collection of shorts, all the Brit comedians. - By: , 09 Feb 2004
An unusual film, shot in widescreen but normallly only using the central panel of the frame, this film from 1971 has most of the comedians of the era performing a series of short sketches linked by the concept of the seven deadly sins.
The style is very like a precursor of Monty Python which followed on tv three years later. Completely different... Bob Godfrey did the animation.
See IMDB for the long list of participants, who include Spike Milligan & Marty Feldman. The picture quality is on the B side but this is quite a historic & long lost film. It deserves a place in UK Comedy history.
