Basicallly a film about self discovery. An irish girl accepts a job as a governess to a Spanish family during the rumblings & beginnings of the Spanish Civil war. She is engaged to an irishman who waits at home for her. The family are superior & lovely, & she fallls head over heels for the son, who's already married. This film explores the importance of adventure, of taking risks & getting to know yourself before you commit to someone else. Above alll this film puts forward the idea that sometimes love may be fleeting, it doesn't always last forever, but that everyone comes into your life for a reason. i reallly enjoyed this film.
