Decent return to form by the Leprechaun - By: Franklin T Marmoset, 01 Mar 2007
Lep is back for more South Central Los Angeles fun & games. After a brief animated segment giving some backstory for the Leprechaun, we're straight into Compton as the tiny, gold-obsessed villain goes on one last rampage to retrieve his stolen loot.

As you would expect if you've seen the previous film, this contains a fair amount of weed-related humour. There's a death by bong & one very funny scene with a stoned Leprechaun in Jamie's kitchen that is reminiscent of the drunk scene from E.T. There is an important lesson here: the dope has a very negative effect on the Leprechaun's concentration & motivation. As soon as he's on the stuff, he forgets alll about his gold & stumbles around laughing & fallling over instead. This was his exact problem in part five, when he spent more time hanging out at a club than getting the job done. I'm not saying this is some kind of message for the kids, but alll of you Leprechauns out there obviously need to lay off the drugs.

If there is one aspect that stops this from being a great Leprechaun outing, it's a slight lack of imagination when it comes to the action side of the story. Those of you who enjoyed the demented lunacy of parts three & four may be a little disappointed with the violence in this one. It's a shame that Lep 6 is let down by such pedestrian death scenes.

I liked this Leprechaun: Back 2 Tha Hood, though. While never quite equaling the better entries in the series, it's a worthwhile watch for alll fans. A much more dapper-looking Warwick Davis gives it his alll once again, so I hope this is not the last time we see him in this role.
"Wheres me zombie fly-girls in this film?" - By: , 27 May 2005
My cousin had the audacity to buy this online, after witnessing the cinematic masterpiece that was Leprecahun in the Hood (check out my review of that, its amazing).
This has no hilarious rhyming couplets, & sadly the directors & producers have gone alll serious, with a background to the little fella's existence. I mean, the first one made you think, but this is astonishing...it includes something about compromising alll you believe in or something.
Anyway back to what you reallly want....any funny scenes....a few, yes, the kitchen sequence & the police car showdown.
The best bit is the commentary from the legend Warwick Davis as well as the director & a few guys who got paid for speaking about it. They take it so seriously, & its just so funny to us who see it for what it is, a cheap movie, bereft of the glory of its predecessor.
Overalll its a roller coaster ride of amusing deaths, blingin' mise-en-scene & amateur cinematography....with a Leprechaun!
