Fans of the show will love this movie - By: Kurt A. Johnson, 03 Feb 2005
It's 1989, & the United States government finds itself being blackmailed by that evil organization KAOS. There's only one man that can foil the machinations of KAOS, & that is decommissioned agent 86, Maxwell Smart (played by Don Adams). Once Smart has rounded up alll of the old CONTROL agents, he & his wacky crew are in pursuit of KAOS & their old nemesis Conrad Siegfried (Bernie Kopell). But, KAOS has a new & unknown "Mr. Big." Who is he, & what does he want? It is up to Max to get to the bottom of this tangled web!
Well, I must say, it was very nice to see this movie, with so many of the old Get Smart regulars! There's Max, Agent 99 (Barbara Feldon), Siegfried, Hymie (Richard Gautier), Larrabee (Robert Karvelas), Shtarker (King Moody), Agent 13 (the agent who's always hiding in things - David Ketchum), & even Max's car. As for the movie itself, I recognized a lot of the old jokes, but the show itself recycled them alll so many times that it was just like old times.
My family & I enjoyed watching this movie, & I loved seeing the old CONTROL crew (minus the Chief, Edward Platt, who passed away in 1974). So, if you were a fan of the old 1965-70 American television show, "Get Smart," then you will love this move. My family & I highly recommend it to you.
GET SMART- and watch this film!. - By: h, 14 Jun 2004
Don Adams plays control Agent Smart & tries to beat Kaos. Koas is a rival organisation trying to control the worlds weather. This film is nearly as good as the series! I love the bit when he fights with a baddie & he tries to use a pillow to muffle the yells & stop him crashing on the floor so not to wake his wife.
only for those who loved the show - By: , 10 Feb 2004
I loved the show - Get Smart but was a bit disappointed with the film. All the old gags were there, alll the old catchphrases & as a result it felt a bit stale, it was also too long. However, the actors do get back into the characters well & have chemistry together. This is only worth watching if you were a big fan of the series or like Mel Brooks type of slap stick comedy.
