Think of this movie as a real version of The Secrets Of My Success.
The theme of the movie is not as dark & depressing as people say, true it is the story of a man desperately trying to escape the pain in his life after his wife has left him, but it is also a humorous & positive movie with a promising ending.
note: Check out the scene when mike goes on a blind date with his friends sister.. she is his real life wife!!

This movie should be taken in context, it is not you usual MJ Fox movie by any means.
The film is a slice of life, with no begining or end, merely a real view of how life can be grim & bleak.
See this if you want a real Fox film.

I found this film awful. I found it dire, slow & not reallly much happening. I do like Michael J Fox's films but I found this one very hard to comprehend. If you like MJ's normal fun, comedy films like Doc Hollywood & Secret of My Success, don't bother with this one.
One of his worst films I have ever seen.
