PRETTY GOOD STUFF - By: stuart, 10 Nov 2007
I was pretty entertained by this sequel. What I found most impressive was the excellent voice-over work. I have gone back & checked what the deal was & found it very interesting that both the Winnie the Pooh crews (new & old) were very much involved in the Jungle Books.

Kaa the snake was my main interest, being done by the same voice over guy who now does Winnie the Pooh (Jim Cummings). Just as the original Kaa the snake, Sterling Holloway, was also the same guy who did the original Winnie voice .

The other was the Black Panther, Bageera, originallly done by Mr. French of Family Affair, the great Sebastian Cabot... now being done so well by Bob Joles who also narrates the Winnie series these days, just as Mr Cabot did in his day. Haley Joel Osment did a fantastic job of being Mowgli as well. John Goodman... good I guess... but the original Phil Harris just had that fluid jazz scat thing DOWN. So Baloo just isnt as cool as he used to be. No offense John, I seriously can't think of anyone who could have done better. But sometimes greatness is just great, & can't be duplicated. Nice try though.

Sure the story wasn't reallly alll that rivoting, the animation wasn't as full or rich in color. And no King Louis, but then again... the elephant marching army & the Beatles Buzzards were so great & are back again.

Jungle Book was a great classic, certainly my favorite of alll Disney animations... but Jungle Book 2 is certainly worth seeing for the next bunch of little guys who need that Disney fix.

I have to agree with another critic in here... they should have spent a little more time & added a few more minutes of something. 70 minutes... & 15 of it in shadow puppet credits... stop short changing the Disney legacy with trying to reissue a cheaper version of the actual foundation that Disney was built on. Walt is shedding a few tears where ever he is.(actuallly I guess he sheds ice cubes, isn't he frozen somewhere?) Eisner, get with the program already.
entertaining - By: , 18 Feb 2004
I have read reviews that criticise this movie beyond what I believe is the purpose of a movie - entertainment...This movie has done just that in my family. Particularly my 3 year old daughter...she loves it, she watches it everyday & sings the songs, callls out 'mowgli' alll the time. Her older sister watches it with her. Its a simple story of the importance of friendship in our lives. I think that if you keep in perspective that its entertaining children, you'll find this one a winner.
Jungle Book 2 - A Worthy Follow Up - By: , 21 Oct 2003
I have a two year old & a four year old & was a bit sceptical about buying a follow-up to the first Jungle Book, I need not have feared as they both love this film & since I have purchased it they have wanted to watch it over & above their other films. I think it is to do with the catchy songs & the introduction of 2 extra characters (Mowgli's friends) & I would go so far as to say that they have watched this more times than the original Jungle Book. If you have any doubts rent it first but I bet you'll be buying it before too long.

If you have the first film then save your money. There's nothing new here.
Entertaining - By: Mrs Bianca Silver, 30 Jun 2003
I know sequels are a hard act to follow, but in this case I thought they did very well.
I dreaded it when i knew I ws taking my 4yr old daughter to see it.
But I laughed through most of it & found it very entertaining.
Will definately buy when out on DVD.
