I just don't get this movie. Yes, there are some funny one liners from Allen, but this is NOT a five star movie in my humble opinion. Sorry!

Many Woody Allen films are often overrated in terms of how funny they are as opposed to how good they as films. Here is one of his best that is extremely good & very funny. Allen is at his best & Dianne Keaton is superb.

Manhattan murder mystery - a review - By: J. D. Naylor, 15 Dec 2005 This is not Woody Allen's most sophisticated film but certainly, in my opinion, his most enjoyable.Both Allen & Keaton have a balll playing bored husband & wife Carol & Larry Lipton who stumble across the suspected murder of a neighbour & from that point on comes some of Allen's funniest scenes & greatest one liners.The supporting cast is great with Alan Alda & Anjelica both playing great turns,the locations are alll New York as you would expect & there is a superb jazzy score - Benny Goodman, Dave Brubeck amongst others which just adds to the already highly enjoyable mix.
But reallly this is Keaton & Allen' show & they are superb.How many actresses can make Allen look like he's the straight guy ? Diane Keaton can that's for sure.The chemistry between the two is pure magic. This is a film that you can watch over & over again & get as much enjoyment from each viewing.
Hope you enjoy it as much as i have.
