an "edge of your seat movie!" - By: jack firestick, 29 Sep 2007
i first bought this for £1.99 on the "hollywood dvd" label under the title
"edge of terror".its a little gem of a movie with murder, shock & suspense
along the way.
then recently by accident i saw it again on amazon under the title"the wind" remastered in 2003 & with extras on the "omega" label r1 ntsc.
and,it was £1.99 but a much clearer print to dvd!
the film stars meg foster, wings hauser ,david macullum & robert morley.
a murder mystery writer goes to a idyllic greek island to write a new novel
she witnesses the handyman burying a body & from then on its a game of "cat & mouse" with
wings hauser.
i love the atmospheric sets & extreme weather which add to the suspense.
a good old fashioned "rear window"style movie which is not horror, its suspense .
make a mug of tea ,get some biscuits & prepare to watch a rollercoaster of a movie, enjoy its a steal @ £1.99 !
Atmospheric and engaging..... - By: , 29 Aug 2002
This is a little gem that is packed full of atmosphere & tension. Our heroine here is the glacier eyed Meg Foster who reteats to a smalll Greek island in the hope of penning her latest blockbusting thriller.. What she gets is some first class inspiration of the realistic kind...
Her landlord is murdered & she witnesses the burial of his body in the dead of night. What folows is a cat & mouse game of terror & our heroine must use alll her cunning & knowledge to survive the night, which incidentallly, takes place during a freak windstorm. Cue lots of jump out your seat shocks, numerous chase sequences & some nifty use of boiling water. Buy this movie it's a scream!
