YES PLEASE. A Hell of a showcase - By: Aaron KD Bourn, 02 Jul 2008
First off, I am a stick-in-the-mud fan of Steven Seagal & alll of his movies, bar none. Even executive decision where he gets killed off only a third of the way through. He still adds his considerable weight to the star quality of the movie.
My personal favourites are included, Nico & The Glimmer Man, which provide ideal book-ends to Seagal's career up to now. You can see the evolution of Seagal as a martial artist as well as an actor, & also the evolution of his ever-increasing waistline. All of these movies, but especiallly Under Siege 1 & Fire Down Below showcase Seagal's ability to get majorly pissed off at some militant band of adversaries because they have killed/taken hostage a member of his family/crew. The one-liners are non-stop as are the flurry of punches & kicks, Seagal's trademark. As a somewhat lesser 'action' star, there are not many that can rival Seagal. Perhaps Dolph Lundgren, but not any more. If you need a straight-to-DVD action hero, you're gonna give Seagal the calll, thats just how it is.
Callling alll Seagal fans, this boxed set is a fantastic demonstration of just how good Seagal movies can be when they're done with just the right amount of humour. Under Siege 1 & 2 as well as the Glimmer Man are alll very funny films as well as being action-packed.
If you want Seagal at his best, then you want this boxed set.
Seagal does it... again - By: Mr. Z. Miller, 21 Sep 2006
Let us consider Mr Steven Seagal as an action star for one moment, a task which asks us not to comment on the quality of his movies but on his inhuman ability to kick the hell out of any other cast member ever featured in almost alll of his movies.
Seagal's films are fun. The reason for this is the forgone conclusion that Seagal's character will far exceed the abilities of any other character, but what makes it silly is that none of the other characters ever manage to realise this until... well until its far too late.
Yes the plots are terrible & almost always revolve around Mr Seagal getting a tiny bit annoyed at the enemy, who will then kidnap or kill someone close to him (generallly his daughter) at which point Seagal will be very mad & proceed to maim, wound & explode his way to the obvious conclusion of the movie.
So if you want to see numerous explosions, an increasingly overweight man with a huge face & chiselled features perform outrageous martial arts, & a happy collection of typicallly cheap one liners then buy this Steven Seagal box set & proudly never let them leave your DVD player.
Alternativly if you're expecting a serious movie then forget it.
Rise and fall of a martial artist - By: , 30 Jul 2004
As the title says, this compilation shows the decay of Mr. Seagal that, in the last productions, is the shadow of himself (especiallly looking at his best movie: Nico).
The plot are obvious, the carachter shaped with an axe, the dialogs almost useless & the fighting scenes... well, you'll see by your self.
the truth - By: ryan holland, 23 Apr 2004
this is a complete box set for the seagul fan, includes under seige 1and 2which he is famous for, the films show seagul at his best. the only downpoint being is exectutive decision, as seagul only stars for a third ofthe film, he is then killed off, which is kind of a good thing in a way.alll in alll though there is enough aikido martial arts to blow you away!
