Truly awful. Avoid like the plague. Buy the original & enjoy forever. Don't even imagine this is anywhere even simlar in style to the original. Struggling to give it one star.

What a cracking little movie this is!!! I am a long time fan of the original & was almost expecting dissapointment but when you get away from the fact that apart from a few props being the same as the original movie (i.e. the uniforms, the home town & the Hanson Bros.) & watch it for what it is... which is not a real sequel but a comical ice hockey romp in it's own right..... it's absolutely fab.... Does the same for Hockey as Major League did for baseballl....
Plenty of laughs, babes & most importantly... hockey!!!!

Slap Shot - Don�t bother - By: , 05 Oct 2004 If you have watched the original film & liked it then be content that you have discovered a great 70's film.
The sequel (like so many other sequels) reallly doesnt come close to touching the original & within 10 minutes of watching it you realise that it reallly isnt going to come close.
Poor acting, bad storyline & cheesy / unfunny lines coupled with the Hanson brothers that are 20 years past ther best is a real disapoinment to fans of Slap Shot that were hoping it would be even half as good will be terribley disappointed.

Why? That is the question that must be asked. The first film was reallly something special, one of the great sports movies. This is far from that. It tries hard, but the story itself is poor, completely lacking depth, believability or any originality. Stephen Baldwin is unconvincing, & Gary Busey just goes through the motions. The Hansons are the only good thing in it, & they only have bit parts.
This film just continues the trend of dreadful sporting sequels, like Caddyshack 2, & Major League 2 & 3. Pray to god they don't try for number 3 on this. Grab a beer, & watch the original again.
Sequel as enjoyable as the original - By: , 09 Mar 2004 As a fan of the original Slapshot movie, I was a little dubious about a sequel. But I was not disappointed!
The return of the Hanson Brothers was a delight. Besides being a rollicking good hockey movie, it makes a very serious comment about sports being manipulated by the sponsors & penny-counters.
If you enjoyed the original, go for it, & watch this one.
