Up The Irons! - By: SMB Metal, 17 Apr 2007
One of the better live acts that you can see in the Heavy Metal genre. This is an excellent quality DVD with very good DTS surround sound & excellent picture quality. I'm not sure why an earlier reviewer thought that the sound quality wasn't very good & that the bass was weak, I also have a good quality 5.1 surround set up & find the overalll quality very good, I would suggest a better surround amp :-)
I like this DVD as it has some of their newer stuff which I am more of a fan of. 'Brave New World' & 'Blood Brothers' the stand out songs IMO. There are a few too many cuts but it doesn't spoil the overalll enjoyment for me.
The extras are also worth a watch too. As with most Iron Maiden products, this is good value for money.
Awful editting - By: Macca, 12 Dec 2006
I've got rid of this DVD now cos I simply couldn't watch it anymore.
Like most other reviews say the editting is a disgrace - I'm not sure why Steve Harris continues to edit concert films. It's bordering on emabarassing at times to be honest.
This is a real missed opportunity - the scale of the event & the performance itself would reallly lend itself to an "AC/DC Live at Donnington" masterpiece, but sadly it doesn't come close. It's like when you watch a band at a festival on TV & you can tell its being done on the hoof.
A shame cos the sound & performance are terrific. Avoid or listen only!!
Pretty damn good, but not perfect - By: Guy, 21 Nov 2006
I reallly enjoyed the DVD as a whole & found the extras entertaining.
The sound quality was fairly good & the atmosphere was definately captured. However, i have to agree with the other reviewers who have pointed out the frantic editing (quick camera angle changes) & also felt that the picture quality was poor to say this is a DVD.
Overalll, a worthwhile purchase. I just wish i'd been there for real :P
