What a wonderful heartwarming story about the bond between a boy & a dog. One for alll the family. When Marty picks up a Beagle pup who's been mistreated by Judd (the local hunter) he stops at nothing to buy the beagle from Judd, who as you can guess is not very willing to sell, but Marty's love & promise to Shiloh overcome alll obstacles.

A wonderful story - By: crazykat, 07 Feb 2007
Shiloh is a beautiful story about a dog himself whom is treated badly by his owner. Oneday when a boy walks along a bridge shiloh goes over to him to try & get attention. When the boy quickly devotes to shiloh & realizes how hes been treated, his only way of keeping/saving shilh from his nasty owner is to try his best to persuade his parents in letting in keep the dog.

Shiloh is a wonderful family movie which the whole family will enjoy!
Animal Film - By: M. G. Hatfield, 28 Dec 2005
This is & flim about friendship & cruelty to animals you may hate that sort of thing but this film will please you trust me I hate alll things like hunting.

Shiloh is the first of three films which are alll great but the first is only on Region 1 DVD's at the moment but will play on british PS2's but will show the film in black & white so you don't need a multi regional disc player if you don't mind the black & white.

This is a brilliant film for children of any age. Shiloh is the usual, sweet canine & Marty his newly found buddy.
The story is simple but well written. The music is well-chosen & the film is shot to a high quality.
Shiloh is a moralising story, but very well done, not sycophantic! Marty's family is the example of a happy, traditional family where dad commands respect & truly cares about Marty (and Shiloh too, after a while!)
There are no profanities, no objectionable content; the 'harsh' treatment of the animals is an integral part of the story.

Children up to 12 years old will enjoy this film & will be able to relate to Marty, who is prepared to do anything to save & own his new friend.

This is by far the most popular childrens film in our 'home library'.
Highly recommended!
