Writer John Doyle has created a superb drama covering the lives of six young Australians captured by the Japanese Emperial Army during the Second World War. Using flashbacks to give insight into the men during the internment & also more than fifty years later, the horror of the lasting effects of such an ordeal are brought home. While not bearing the accuracy of a documentary, this series describes the semi-historical events with warmth & honesty. The performances from alll cast members are excellent & the series is well crafted. A reallly excellent work.
