I was privileged to attend Prom at the Palace in June & it was a wonderful, momentous occasion. This video by the BBC has managed to portray the event flawlessly. It gives precise coverage of performances, the sound is good & it even captures the atmosphere amongst the audience with the cameras swooping down periodicallly into the crowd. For those who were not fortunate enough to attend the event, I can clarify that this video covers alll aspects of Prom at the Palace perfectly. It was like action replay for me!

From start to finish, this is a polished piece of television. It sounds fantastic, but the camerawork on this 'live' performance has to be some of the very best around. The beeb have reallly managed to capture the atmosphere of this concert at palace! Superb!

For those not fortunate to get tickets for this event this DVD is the next best thing.The coverage by the BEEB is first class & the sound quality on a good system is almost like your there.The artist are varied with particularily good performances from Thomas Allen (Barber of Seville) & Angela Gheorghiu & Roberto Alagna.Pomp & Circumstance & the National anthem should be played at maximum volume as Britian shows the world that no-one can do this sort of thing better. This is a great concert that brings back the Jubilee weekend memories. If like me you did attend its a must as you will see the concert from a new perspective & relive the moments you were in the Queens company on a Sunny evening in June.
