Winter Wonderland...but not yet Christmas- By: Eddy Smit, 11 Nov 2002 If you like Johnny Winter, or white-boy-blues in general, this is the DVD for you. This 4-decade spanning career retrospective has Johnny strutting his stuff at top level. Unfortunately, sometimes at the expense of the pictures that go with that music. Although the set advertises guest appearances by BB King, Muddy Waters, Dr John & Edgar Winter, it's exactly these segments that are below par, picture-quality-wise. Since they originate from TV broadcasts, one would expect better. It would have been nice too if the package would have given a few details on these TV shows. But don't let that spoil the party. You're in for almost 80 minutes of red hot white boy blues at its best, thanks to everybody's favorite pigment-challlenged American.
