This movie is based on a stage play that was a hit in the United States - it is both humorous & serious & by alll accounts the original play had real-life middle-aged couples thinking carefully about their own relationships! It's about two married couples who have been friends for many years & the effect that the breakdown of one of their marriages has on the others.There is some "proper" acting going on here with people conversing with one another without any cutting for minutes on end.The actors do a fine job at convincing the viewer that they reallly are friends & lovers & the special features section of the dvd tells the viewer everything they could want to know about how the stage play was turned into a screenplay.
