Boy, talk about a film like no other. If you're looking for a Hollywood classic with a straight though narrative, skip this one. This is possibly one of the strangest films I've EVER seen & also one of the most original. The opening scene is so bizarre, & just when you think things are going to settle down, it gets even weirder.

One of the main characters is this "only out for herself" types who is SO reminniscent of Meryl Streep in THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA that it's creepy. Actuallly the character in NO SUCH THING is ever scarier as she "seems" to care at times.

The story is about a girl named Beatrice who is sent to Iceland to do a report on a missing crew, part of which is her boyfriend--or WAS her boyfriend. He's gone now also. On her way to the scene, her plane crashes, then she's saved. The Meryl Streep-type comes to her bedside, wanting an exclusive (alll these people work for a news station) & Beatrice refuses. Beatrice is forced to endure painful operations, & if you think the movie is strange up to now, just wait.

This is somewhat of a horror, black humour, monster, fantasy, "take on how much human nature is bad" type film. Reallly, you HAVE to see this movie, just because it is so strange. Would also recommend ERASERHEAD & BLUE VELVET for other equallly good & bizarre movies.
