Average Sequal - By: Teri, 27 Aug 2008
I'm not a big fan of sequals..they never live up to the original, & im afraid this one was just like alll the rest...dissapointing
However, I do like Mila as an actress & i love her sweet & innocent on the outside charcater & the inner strong driven, deterrmind & evilness that lashes out when she needs to get her own way.
The plot could have been better but the slow script & some of the characters (Shatners for example) could have had more depth & development.
I would at least rent it & give it a watch if you cant't find anything else
A movie that needed no remake. - By: Mr. N. Fraser, 16 Aug 2008
The first American Psycho was a cult classic as Christian bale brought the Patrick Bateman charater too life just like in the book. But American Psycho II sees Mila Kunis trying hard to be a Patrick Bateman as Hollwood writers get rich off the first movie, and turns it into a teen slash Dark Comedy thriller for the teen's to enjoy. And it is very much a insult to the first movie & get's very dull & lifeless & Mila Kunis does not have what it take to be a Patrick Bateman. And I think they should have just left Patrick Bateman to rest & not do another American Psycho there is only one Patrick Bateman.
Sexy and awsome - By: Lee J. Ridgard, 26 Apr 2008
Yes this film is nothng like the original in the way that it appeals more to the teenage audience but it works, I thoght the film was awsome even if it is a little chessey Mila Kunis plays the character perfectly as she can play multipul different kinds of characters not just comedy ones. Yes if you are fan of th original & you want a true sequel this isnt for you but if you want to see a film with the hot Mila Kunis going on a killing spree well worth the money.
They stole the title of a good film - By: Jacques COULARDEAU, 06 Nov 2007
Apart from a fast flying-by image of & reference to Bateman, this film has nothing to do with the film whose title it is borrowing. It is just what some calll a slasher, others would calll a thriller. But what is it reallly? First it is a phenomenal picture of the American society at the end of the 20th century & beginning of the 21st century. A society that considers achieving an aim, a purpose as being the most important fact in anyone's own life. It is the cult of the winner as opposed to the curse of the loser. If you don't want to be a loser, you have to be a winner, at alll cost. This is an illusion if we don't understand that winning or losing has to be a social fact: one can only win within the own winning of his full society. One cannot be a winner if one is surrounded with losers. And one cannot be a winner if one is surrounded with winners, lest that first one will have to eliminate alll the other potential winners. That is schizophrenia based on a megalomaniac paranoid psychosis. The second element we learn is that a woman serial killer is possible, though we must admit they are rare, though we do not know why. The third element we learn is that the best serial killer is someone who is absolutely unknown because that serial killer assumed the identity of someone else & eliminated that someone else. Hence the serial killer is past history, & yet alive & kicking somewhere in New York or Washington. The trickiest element of this film is that this insane killer only aimed at being accepted in the FBI Academy in Quantico & has actuallly been selected & is bound to be an FBI serial killer hunter. But this does not qualify this film as a sequence in any way of "American Psycho". One thing is missing: the particular obsession Bateman had about male fashion & beauty products, financial business & amplified music. The second thing that is missing is the ambiguity of the book & the ambiguity of the unrated version of the film as for knowing if this serial killing is only a fantasized nightmare or a real thing, if Bateman is a real serial killer or just a mental case of a serial killer. But one thing is identical: the "killer" is un-prosecutable, will always be unknown & untouchable, because society has classified the murders with some reassuring explanation: the killer herself is dead. So after alll this is a good entertaining film though it lacks some depth.

100% bad Do not part with Any Money ever for this Rubbish - By: Richard Murkett, 11 Nov 2004
Do not confuse American Psycho 2 with American Psycho. The only thing linking it is the name. It has no merits whatsoever. It is a utter waste of time, & money. It is not based on the book in any way other than the main character gets killed in the first five minutes, with the filming done from behind so they did not have to hire an Actor. The rest of the Acting remind me of Crossroads. The worst british Soap. The Storyline is simple, the ending is not worth waiting for.
This film is the worst part 2 Ever, it is worst than An American Werewolf in Paris.
