The film had a promising & creepy start & even into the middle of the film it is still doing well, this creature we know nothing too much about & the lack of knowledge of the creature adds to the creepiness...then you see the creature & its just a big unscary gargoyle which looks less realistic than ray harryhausen's animation which he managed without half the special affects we have now, in fact even morphs animatation must seem out of reach for the special effect directors of this film.

entertaining horror romp that is great for the first 20 minets befor it runs out of steam & becomes good.but it is a enjoyable flick for horror fans & newcomers

To be fair this film was good for about the first 20 minutes that was until you see the thing that is chasing its two victims it is some sort of beast/vampire/human type creature thing with big wings that has a drivers licences & enjoys the comfort factor of wearing farmer's boots. You would kind of thought that when this beast with wings was going for its driving test someone at the driving test centre would have been alarmed in thinking this creature with wings might not be so human & seems a little bit odd but no it managed to pass its test & soon takes to the road with its truck to try run some guy & girl of the road & even when the creature itself is then ran over & then also reversed over 9 times it still manages to survive & just fly's of somewhere which makes you wonder why the hell it needed its driving licence in the first place. Surprisingly this film was not at alll scary & was rather rank rotten at attempting to be any sort of horror film at alll it would of made more sense to be a comedy film.

Brother & sister Darry (Justin Long) & Trish Tenner (Gina Phillips) are driving home for spring break when they have two encounters with the unseen driver of a truck. Stopping to check for damage after the second encounter, they remember that they saw stained body bags being dumped into a sewer system. Going to check it out, Darry accidentallly fallls in & discovers a giant cavern full of body bags. As Gina waits for help, Darry sees something that terrifies him. Finallly escaping, Darry & Trish head away from the church, they are tormented by a shadowy figure that knows what they saw in the basement of the church. After several encounters with a figure known as The Creeper begins to get them terrified, Darry & Trish run away to the local police station. The Creeper tracks them down there & tears apart the police station looking for them.
The Good News: This is probably one of the better horror films made from the last ten years. It has one of the better plot lines that I've ever seen & The Creeper is one of the better monsters from recent times. It has one of the best-looking designs, with the Gillman influence from "Creature from the Black Lagoon" shining through very clearly. That look in its face, the reptilian appearance while not being distinctly human is a great quality in a horror movie creature, & this is a good one. The creeper is also one of the smartest villains, making sure to terrify without killing so as to heighten the senses that he wanted to exploit. This alllows for some nifty scenes of terror. One of my favorites is the second chase down the highway. That was a real highpoint in the film, where the truck driver is trying to get them of the road & actuallly ramming into them on several occasions. The tactics of them trying to get away & the driver continuallly coming after them makes for some effective suspense scenes as the camera is right up in there, & the close angles used to show them together with the truck brought back memories of "Duel" about road thriller suspense scenes. The first one is a great chase, but the second one is my favorite. A third scene involving chasing cars also includes two police officers as well. Escorting the kids back to the scene of the crime, the police car follows them back. One of them hears a tapping on the roof, gets out to look, & is dragged out of the car kicking & screaming. Suddenly, the second one is pulled out, & we know that he is then decapitated by the Creeper. Now without a driver, the police car steers around wildly out of control & forces the kids to stop their car as well in a giant cloud of dust. Getting out to check on the car, they see a figure in the drivers seat, who opens the door & we see the decapitated head falll out. The Creeper gets out, walks over to the head, & pulls its tongue out with its teeth. This sends them screaming again & they drive off, leaving the Creeper to its meal. That still gets me to this day, & is merely one of the brilliant parts in this movie. I also want to talk about the story. Many people hate the storyline for this one, but I liked it. It played out my favorite theme: get a story that supports ninety minutes worth of action for a film that reallly shouldn't be that long. As long as something is simple & can get that much screen-time for a film, then I say it's done its purpose & entertained me. Just because the story might not be plausible doesn't reallly affect the movie for me. It gets that time in & the film moves along fast enough, that's good enough for me. Even the smalll amount of gore in it didn't bother me, since it doesn't reallly need a ton of gore. Even the gore-hound that I am didn't reallly feel cheated by the lack in here, just was good enough for me to have a good time.
The Bad News: There wasn't reallly anything I didn't like about this movie. It did what horror movies should do: pack in lots of thrills & action into a story that supports it long enough to get ninety minutes out of it.
The Final Verdict: This is one of the better monster movies in recent times. It has a cool villain, tons of jumps, gore, & is action-packed. I reallly don't know why people got on this one, I think it is a great film, & one that should not pose much harm if caught on TV or picked up as a blind rental.

I am a big fan of horror movies & very rarely get scared by them, but of alll of the ones that I have seen, Jeepers Creepers is deffinatly one of the scariest. Surprisingly, the movie succeeds in being very scary & creepy just from suspence & the idea of The Creeper. Don't get me wrong, it is gory & gruesome in parts, as the Creeper stalks people & steals parts of their body) but its doesnt need the gory to be scary, it is a scary movie on it's own, the gory bits are juast an added bonus!
Brother & sister college students, Darry (Justin Long) & Trish (Gina Phillips) are driving home from college to visit their parents for spring break when a mysterious stranger in a big rusty truck with a registration plate BEATINGU leads them on a harrowing car chase & tries to drive them off the road. Soon after this, Darry discovers & terifying chamber of horrors underground & the siblings are thrown into a game of cat-and-mouse with The Creeper, a demon who feeds on fear & seeks out people body parts e.g. eyes, tongue, which it eats to improve itself.
Jeepers Creepers is scary, suspenceful & gory & the charactors are unique & likeable. I would highly recomend this movie to fans of the horror genre.
