Enjoyable romp - By: S J Buck, 26 Aug 2008
I'm not especiallly a fan of the mans films, & having seen a few of the acknowledged classics & been somewhat underwelmed, the thought of watching this did not appeal.
Well I'd be the first to admit I was wrong. The story concerns Benjamin Stubbins (Hay) a failed solicitor whose life is fallling apart around him. His office becomes the focal point for a bank job. The first 1/2 of the film is very pacey & flies by. There are many funny scenes & I genuinely enjoyed watching this part of the film. In the second half it slowed down a bit & didn't quite maintain the same standard.

However overalll this is an entertaining old-fashioned comedy thats worth getting at the right price.
Classic Will Hay - By: , 31 Dec 2001
Until recently I would not have considered myself a fan, but watching these films again after a long time has been a reallly refreshing experience. As usual Will Hay bungles & blusters his way around amid a chain of events completely out of his control & somehow it alll turns out well in the end. This was not the best film in the collection but was a very enjoyable watch.
