I actuallly worked as Locations for th crew on this film. Talk out good fun! Sir Peter had me in stiches whenever I saw him!
A classic comedy - so well done. Such a shame it didnt do well in the cinema. Wrong time I think.

Very funny movie! - By: , 04 Oct 2001
I reallly enjoyed this comedy film, which stars the brilliant Prunella Scales & the excellent Brian Glover, (in one of his last film roles). It's a clever parody of alll those costume dramas that the British film industry churns out. There are some great moments! Watch out for a naughty scene involving a statue! This is a great film which seems to have been overlooked. I don't remember it getting much of a cinema release. Anyway, I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good laugh!!!
This film will have you crying with laughter. - By: , 01 Oct 2001
There is nothing about this film I did not like. The cast were superb & the script was incredible. This film is like a Carry-On for the nineties & will keep people laughing well into the millenium.
Prunela Scales is her usual brilliant self, playing Aunt Agnes with the air of a woman just the wrong side of the insanity divide.
Georgina Cates gives us Emily who can pout for England, & shows us a character who is both funny & sympathetic.
Sean Pertwee as George is also fabulous as well as gorgeous & Robert Portal as Cedric is just superb. The lake scene has to be seen to be believed.
This film's humour is both sophisticated & incredibly funny. I have not laughed so hard for a very long time. I can watch this film over & over again without tiring of the jokes at alll. Put that together with the beautiful scenery & sets & you have a production which will never become boring.
There was not one character which let down the show, from Hudson the butler through to Horace the mad tea plantation owner. Every actor is brilliant & will have you crying with laughter. This film is a must have.
